Extensive experience in the sales industry
After completing his upper secondary education in commerce and administration, Stefan knew right away that he wanted to pursue a career in sales. His first role was selling advertisements for the phone directory, and from there his journey continued with sales of educations, packaging, and office furniture. Over the years, Stefan has worked on the phone, in the field, and in leading positions – gaining extensive and valuable experience within the industry along the way.
– When I first started in sales, I immediately knew it was the right path for me. That adrenaline rush after closing a successful deal is almost like scoring the winning 2-1 goal in a soccer game. And even after 20 years in the business, I still find it just as exciting, challenging, and rewarding, Stefan begins.
– And speaking of the work being challenging, it felt given to embrace this new challenge at WFI. Some aspects are familiar from my previous workplace, while many are, of course, entirely new. The sales model through resellers is similar, but the biggest difference is that here we work more on a project basis, with customer specific solutions, and a different type of costumer, which feels exciting looking ahead. After the first six months, the experience has been nothing but positive, Stefan continues.
Together as a team towards new goals
On a daily basis, Stefan spends most of his time on customer interactions of various kinds, and acts as a sounding board for his colleagues in the sales team. This includes everything from discussing the range, presenting new products, and engaging with the market to updating prices, deepening relationships with existing customers, and reaching out to new prospects. During his first six months, the focus has been on building structures and processes for the road ahead, as well as getting to know the industry and all the new products.
– My main responsibility will be the export market, and so far, I have only scratched on that surface. I am really looking forward to diving into it more, especially next year – getting out there and meeting our customers. That part is definitely the most fun, meeting customers and seeing everyone satisfied after a closed deal. Then there is also a tremendous drive in seeing how we develop within the organization and as a team. I have always been involved in team sports, and I bring that mentality with me to work, that we want to get better together and work as a team. Let's go for new goals!, Stefan concludes.
