Alfred, warehouse worker: “It feels great to be a part of the team here at WFI”

Over the past six months, team WFI, and the warehouse team in particular, has grown with several driven new colleagues. And first up to be introduced is Alfred Karlsson. Alfred joined in August and quickly became a natural part of the operation in his role as warehouse worker. A typical day at work for him mainly involves sorting, picking, and packing orders – and when he gets home, it’s all about football.

“Excited about a new challenge”
As one of the younger employees at WFI, Alfred graduated from the Business and Administration Programme in Gnosjö in 2022. Since then, he has gained experience in a variety of workplaces and done everything from forklift driving and industrial packing to working in grocery retail and serving as a transport coordinator. Since August 2025, he has been part of WFI’s growing warehouse division, where he has quickly established himself as a valued member of the team.

–   It feels really good to be part of the team here, I really like it. Everyone is easy-going and friendly, so it was simple to get into things from day one. That means a lot when you’re new to a job, Alfred says.

–   My role here is completely different from what I’ve done before, so it’s been exciting to take on a new challenge. I haven’t worked with such a large customer before, so it felt positive to be given that trust from the start. Of course it was a bit nerve-racking in the beginning, but now I feel settled into the role and I’m constantly developing, both in the picking work and in taking on responsibility, Alfred continues.

In close cooperation with sales
When Alfred arrives at the warehouse on a typical workday, he starts by structuring the order flow to get a clear overview of what is current and what needs prioritizing. From there, the hands-on work begins with picking orders, building pallets, packing goods, and arranging shipments.

–   The first thing I do is to check in with Edith in sales, who shares customer responsibility with me. Our collaboration has worked well from day one and we have close dialogue every day to discuss what needs prioritizing, what can be rescheduled and how things look going forward. That communication is invaluable for keeping everything running smoothly. And the best parts of the job are the colleagues and having many balls in the air at the same time. When you’ve picked a big order, labelled all the pallets, and shipped the goods as planned – that’s a great feeling! Alfred concludes.

How would you describe WFI as an employer?
–   So far it feels really good! There’s a lot going on and always something happening, and I have great colleagues too – which is probably the most important thing for me.

What do you prefer to do in your free time?
–   Mostly football, I play and watch a lot. I’ve played since I was a kid and play for Kulltorps GoIF, where we train twice a week and have two matches. I also follow Real Madrid CF and IF Elfsborg. Other than that, I just hang out with the guys.

Your best memory from WFI so far?
–   Even though I haven’t been here that long, we’ve already had an AW with curling and a Christmas dinner, both were really fun, so I’m looking forward to more activities going forward.
